Exeter School

Richard May

Richard May became a Governor in 2016. He grew up in Plymouth and has lived and worked in Devon for most of his life. He sits on the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Following three years at Swansea University reading maths, Mr May spent time in the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm before qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor. He has worked in Exeter as a commercial surveyor, in general practice covering landlord and tenant, valuation and agency work and advised a lot of institutions and government departments. He has more recently focused on planning and development work, as well as relocations, running a small niche practice covering office and industrial property, covering some large strategic sites in the South West.

Mr May has four children, one of whom is still a current pupil here at Exeter School. His spare time interests include squash, tennis and skiing.

Open evening - 8 May

At Exeter School we believe that education is about the moments that make us. Meaningful moments that get etched in our memories and the everyday kindness that makes them possible. We welcome you to discover Exeter School in the best way possible. See it. Experience it. Ask questions to the people who matter the most – our pupils.
