Crossing House

Crossing House was founded in the 1948/49 academic year, with the first Head of House being EA Clarke. Crossing was formed as a result of the growth of the school; The July 1949 edition of The Exonian reports how ‘The Preparatory Department had moved from their old quarters to “Emsleigh,” adjoining the grounds. This building, in addition to enabling the Prep to have better accommodation, also provided flats for assistant masters. A new Day House had been formed, “Crossing,” and the staff had been greatly increased.’
