Founder’s Day 2025

Posted: 1st April 2025

The sun shone down on this year’s annual Founders’ Day service at Exeter Cathedral, where the whole school community came together to proudly celebrate almost 400 years of history at Exeter School. The picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for our choirs, orchestras and speakers to honour all those who have played their part in the evolution of the school since 1633. We were also delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Exeter, among the guests of honour, to attend the service attended by all of our pupils, staff and governors.

With over 1000 pupils and staff in the cathedral, the event was a reminder of the importance of togetherness and community, with singing from the congregation and choirs, as well as music from our talented orchestras and musicians bringing everyone together.

At the conclusion of the service, the CCF, in their formal uniforms, formed a guard of honour outside the west door of the cathedral to welcome everyone back into the sunshine and greet the guests as they departed the cathedral.
