National cup success and a great start to the rugby season

Posted: 13th September 2024

The 1st XV continued their successful start to the season on Wednesday with a 54-15 win against Wellington School in the National continental cup. A superb first half performance, which saw them score 40 points was the foundation of an impressive win and they now progress to play Ivybridge in the next round. This was their third win in a row following pre-season victories at Crediton RFC and at home to Plymouth College. The 1st XV have a busy couple of weeks coming up with a home fixture against QEH Bristol tomorrow and a trip to Blundell’s next Wednesday. The 2nd XV, U5s and U13s were also in pre-season action last week with the 2nds and U15s also playing Plymouth College and the U13s travelling to Millfield for a festival. Well done to all involved as they returned down the M5 with wins against Millfield and Kingswood and a draw against Cheltenham College – amazing!

Saturday marks the first block fixture of the term with teams in all year groups playing against QEH. It will be the first senior school fixtures for our 3F (U12s) and new L5 (U14) players and we hope they really enjoy their first rugby experience for Exeter School.
