Library
Brimming with enticing novels, as well as vital reference books, the school library is open to pupils throughout the day for study, board gaming and as a place for a little peace and quiet. With a revolving stock of titles, and competitions to inspire and motivate that all-important love of reading, our passionate library staff are ever on hand to advise.
Also in the library is our expert careers advisor who supports pupils by discussing next steps, offering a wealth of knowledge about work experience opportunities and university pathways.

Dining Room
From the summer Jazz Club to Little Shop of Horrors, the main hall hosts the school’s most dazzling productions and pupils are all encouraged to participate, whether that’s behind the scenes or under the spotlights.
Throughout the year, the room is also used for senior school assemblies as well as much-loved events such as the house dance competition.
Here, you will also find the dining room. With three options available each day, plus a salad bar, pupils are encouraged to make healthy choices and eat family style with members of staff.

Chapel
As well as a setting for school events, such as the charming Form One La Nativite, the chapel is a place for quiet reflection, contemplation, and is also used as a venue for music performances.

Science Centre
Housing biology, chemistry, physics, computer science and electronics, a love for science is sparked here. With expert teaching staff and opportunities for exploration, pupils are encouraged to forge a lifelong love for science.

Sports Centre and Swimming Pool
With a series of facilities, including an indoor 25m pool, squash courts, dance studio, gym, spinning gallery, shooting range and sports hall, this modern facility ensures pupils can perform to the highest level all year round.

Music School
Music is a huge part of life at Exeter School, and over 500 private music lessons are held every week. With a vast array of orchestras, choirs and ensembles on offer, there really is something for everyone to become involved with.

Junior School
With a dedicated STEAM lab, library, computer suite and airy, spacious classrooms, the junior school is a happy, nurturing setting where pupils explore and thrive. On top of this, pupils also benefit from the senior school facilities, such as the swimming pool, sports facilities, drama studio and music department, blending the comfort of a separate junior school, with the amenities of a senior school.

Junior School Playground
Pupils adore spending their time on the purpose-built adventure playground that was added in 2021. A priority for the junior school community was a secure and safe playground with zoned play for different age groups as well as open play areas. Balancing, hanging, traversing and climbing are all encouraged on the new equipment which includes adventure trail equipment such as climbing trees, flower stepping pods, balance beams, and wobble boards.

Bursary and medical centre
The bursary is located and accessed from Victoria Park Road and provides many of the non-academic facilities of the school. The office is open from 8am to 5pm during term time and 9am to 4.30pm during the holidays. Services provided include:

- Daily lunch passes
- General enquiries by telephone and in person
- Lost property
- Second hand uniform
- Deliveries
The bursary is also where parents should leave items to pass to their children, e.g. forgotten lunches, books or sports kit.

Drama studio
Drama has a leading role to play in the overall growth and development of pupils. It encourages them to reflect on their own thoughts, feelings, and attitudes, and those of others around them. Exeter School has an excellent, fully equipped black box theatre, seating 150, which is supported by a substantial costume department.

Townsend Building, design technology
The department has an enviable range of both traditional and up-to-date technology, from lathes and mills to 3D printers and laser cutters. Equipment is situated across two workshops supported by a computer suite and a computer-aided manufacture room featuring 3D printers, a laser cutter and CNC mill. Pupils combine traditional skills with laser cutting and 3D printing with impressive results. Products range from lamps and wall-mounted storage to an automated cat feeder and a radio-controlled hydro foiling model yacht.

Main reception and admissions
The main reception to the school is signposted from the gate at Manston Terrace. When the gates are closed, please use the intercom to gain entry. All visitors should report to the main reception to sign in. This reception is open from 8.15am to 4.45pm during term time.

The Exonian Centre
The Alumni and Development team is based in the Exonian Centre. They are on hand throughout the year to show alumni around the school by prior arrangement.
The archive of records and artefacts relating to the school’s history is also housed in the Exonian Centre.
The archive includes copies of the school magazine, The Exonian, since its first publication in the nineteenth century, an extensive photo collection and many other fascinating artefacts. Alumni are always welcome to come and peruse the collection and, with warning, the alumni team try and ensure that items of particular interest are available to view.

Head’s Reception
Pupils who need to deliver letters, messages, or work to members of staff should report to the Head’s reception which is in School House Tower and is entered through the large door below the blue clock. This is also where pupils should register when arriving late or if they are leaving for an appointment.

Sixth Form Centre
The sixth form have their own purpose-built centre, which includes a spacious common room, study and seminar rooms, a pool room, and a small kitchen. This provides their own dedicated space on the school campus, slightly set apart from other year groups and academic departments, while nevertheless allowing them to still feel part of the school community.
