Exeter School Music Partnership’s “Celebration of Singing”

Posted: 20th March 2025

Exeter School’s Junior Singers performed within the Celebration of Singing on Wednesday 5 March at Whipton Barton School. The event was the focus of sessions so far this year within the Exeter School Music Partnership (ESMuP) project, which runs weekly music workshops at local primary schools. Led by music teacher Miss Kirwan, pupils from the senior school are offered the opportunity to assist with delivering sessions.

Miss Kirwan said “This is a wonderful opportunity to bring music into the local community along with helping some of our own pupils to develop their teaching and communication skills.”

Four junior schools took part in the concert – hosts Whipton Barton, Wynstream, Woodwater and Exeter Junior School, who all joined together for two massed-choir items. These also featured live band accompaniment from Upper Fifth pupils Chloe, Aidan, Freddie and Sebastian, and provided a joyful culmination to the concert.

Open evening - 8 May
