Earlier this week, we hosted our third annual education festival, EdFest25, which focussed on creating and maintaining an inclusive learning environment with the overarching theme of ‘flourishing for all’. The vital themes of mental health, neurodiversity, and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) were covered in a range of engaging workshops throughout the day.
We were delighted to welcome more than 40 external delegates from a wide range of schools as well as our own staff members, and it provided a great opportunity for the attendees to network and share their experiences too. The day began with a keynote from Michael Barton, who reflected on his own personal experiences with autism before delegates spread out throughout the school to attend thought provoking workshops. Throughout the day, delegates explored dyslexia, dyscalculia, sensory processing difficulties, adaptive teaching and mental health and ADHD during a series of workshops before finishing with a keynote which encouraged us to celebrate and support the teenage brain. In the afternoon, we were also delighted to welcome a similar number of parents to listen to the keynote, presented by Epic Solutions, on the teenage brain and to explore mental health with a spotlight on ADHD.
