Informal Brass Concert

The series of Informal Concerts at Exeter School is well underway now, with many of the school’s brass players performing on Wednesday 29 January. Trumpets, trombones, a flugel horn, cornet and tuba were all represented by pupils from across the senior school, with a similarly wide range of styles and genres. Excerpts from the trumpet concertos by Hummel and Neruda were enjoyed alongside music from screen favourites Wallace and Gromit, Raiders of the Lost Ark and much more; not least the classic ‘cello piece ‘The Swan’ played on the tuba.

Although he stepped down from his teaching and band-leading at Exeter School at the end of 2024, everyone was delighted to see Mr. Moore at the event too.

Exonian Lecture

Captain Elizabeth Godwin (2004-2013) – Life Guards Squadron- will share her experiences and give a first-hand insight into her career to date. She will explore nationally significant events as well as her day-to-day responsibilities as the leader of Sqn 2iC, which include running the Life Guards squadron of 60 soldiers and 100 Military Working Horses.

Friday 7 February, 6-8pm Exeter School main hall.
