The U11 and U13 squash teams played their first fixture of the season this week against St Peter’s Prep with the U11’s travelling to the Exeter Golf & Country club and eight Fourth Form pupils representing at home. Both fixtures were great fun and showcased loads of potential with the U13 fixture producing some superb match ups and each player showing signs of progress with every match they played.
It is also national squash season with the U18s, U16s and U14s all playing in the first round of the national tournament. The U18s travel to Millfield next week to play the hosts, King’s Taunton, Wycliffe College B (their ‘A’ team are national champions) and Exeter College. The U14s host Truro and Winterbourne Academy at home on Wednesday and the U16s played King’s Taunton, Truro School and Penair School yesterday. The U16s battled really hard against extremely strong squash schools and now qualify for the plate competition after the Christmas break. We wish them every success.
