AP swim clinic

Posted: 4th July 2024

Last week, some of our pupils were lucky enough to take part in a session provided by AP Race Clinics. AP Race Clinics is an organisation founded by Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty to promote and support aspiring swimmers. This fantastic session was led by development lead Kevin Pickard and two times Commonwealth medallist Elliot Clogg.
The afternoon started in the Andrew’s Hall, where pupils were given a talk on sports psychology. This was an in-depth exploration into the different aspects of a swimmer’s life outside the pool to enhance a swimmer’s productivity. Elliot Clogg used his own experiences to demonstrate the importance of a growth mindset to a swimmer’s success, and how it’s benefitted his life outside of the swimming pool as well! After the talk, the pupils went up to the viewing gallery in the swimming pool for a land based warm up, before they started the much anticipated swim session!

This was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils cultivate their skills and be inspired by such successful swimmers. Thank you so much to AP Clinic for visiting us!
