A Space Odyssey for Lower Fifth

Posted: 4th July 2024

As the summer term reaches its conclusion, there was just enough time for L5 classes to experience a planetarium dome show. This was a fantastic experience for the year group, who have studied astronomy this year as part of the IGCSE course.

They were taken through a history of recent space travel and what lies ahead, an overview of the Universe and the nuclear fusion process in stars. They also looked at the development of life on Earth and whether other life is out there. Finally they had the chance to learn about some constellations and identifying stars in the sky. It certainly brings their classroom learning to life!
