The U11A’s enjoyed a fantastic victory in the county final over Blundell’s Prep School. Having lost the toss and being put into bat, sensible yet positive batting showed the improvements that had been made since the first meeting with Blundell’s earlier in the season with Exeter ending on 265 from their 12 overs. The highlight of the innings being Freddie’s (one of our Upper Two pupils) innings of 19 runs off just 10 balls, putting pressure on the Blundell’s bowlers.
In the field, Exeter School took wickets at regular intervals with all players in the team bowling and showing excellent control over their line and length to restrict Blundell’s to 239 from their 12 overs. Tom, Arthur and George (Upper Two) all took 2 wickets each and bowled with excellent pace and control. A special mention should go to Arthur C. who captained the side excellently.
Exeter have now qualified for the South-West finals, taking place on Monday June 17 at Kings Taunton.
