U15 Cricket – ESCA west finals

Posted: 7th June 2024

The U15As have progressed to the English School Cricket Association regional final following a superb performance against Cathedral School, Cardiff on Monday. The U15 ESCA competition is comprised of winners of every county competition nationwide at U14 level from the previous year. Following a first round win against Dorset champions Bryanston before the break the U15s travelled up the M5 and across the River Seven to face the Welsh group winners. Exeter posted a formidable total of 342 in the first innings thanks to a brilliant 145 not out from Jacob (M5). He was superbly supported by fifties from Josh and Marcus who both batted superbly. Cathedral School never looked like getting close to the total and, although Exeter were a little complacent with ball in hand, four wickets from Mo (L5) helped the visitors dismiss their Welsh hosts for 188.

Exeter now face Millfield at home next Wednesday 12th June starting at 14:00. It promises to be a big challenge but we look forward to seeing how they do as they attempt to make the national semi-finals later this term.
