Graffiti workshop with Ramona Eve Bigwood

Over 50 pupils took part in the graffiti workshop led by Romona on Wednesday 15 May. Pupils from the Art Scholarship Programme, Young Artists Collective and other high achieving pupils were chosen to celebrate their dedication to the arts over the past two years. The workshop gave pupils the opportunity to work in a new medium of spray paint and the stencils were made especially for school by Ramona. The outcomes created in the workshop will inform Ramona’s design for a mural, that was pitched to the head teacher by YAC in 2022. The mural design will be a deconstruction of the school logo in a bright and colourful Memphis style, which will be installed on the floor to the entrance to the Art Department in the summer. This was a fantastic workshop and will be back next year by popular demand! Pupils involved in the workshop thought it was “ a very exciting and rewarding experience”.
