It was great to get the cricket season under way this week with a variety of fixtures for our senior school boys’ teams. The 2nd XI got the season underway on Friday evening against Queen’s, Taunton ahead of fixtures for the U14A, U13A and U12A on the Saturday. Everyone involved had some priceless time in the middle after a very wet Easter break and the 2nd XI, U14A and U13A all recorded superb wins.

This week also marked the start of the Devon county cup competition with the U14s and U12s playing against Blundell’s. Both were closely matched with the U12s progressing following a narrow win and the U14s losing by 3 runs. The 1st XI were also in cup action (HMC T20) away at Sherborne but unfortunately came up short scoring 137 (Freddie C 45) in pursuit of 170.

This weekend sees the boys teams play against King’s Bruton and the girls teams against Wellington and King’s College Prep. Fingers crossed for some dry weather and lots of excellent fixtures.
