The art department regularly recognises the achievements of individual pupils in the senior school through the award of the title, ‘Artist of the Moment’. Entries cover a wide range of disciplines, including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, installation and mixed media celebrating the diverse talents of pupils in our co-educational day school.
Our artist of the moment is Anna in Middle Fifth. As part of her identity project, she has been responding to the work of Graphic Designer and Illustrator Hattie Stewart. She has worked with a range of media to produce these outstanding results. Using primary source photography, paint, tape and posca pens, with a variety of patterns and vibrant colours, she illustrates youth culture and injects energy into her work. I was particularly impressed with her magazine front cover. Well done Anna, great composition.
