The Economics Society at Exeter School had the pleasure of a visit by alumnus Andrew Bulley on February 8. A former student from 1969 to 1980, Bulley shared insights from his illustrious career at the Bank of England and the FSA, focusing on international macroeconomics and the importance of stringent, yet adaptable, financial system regulation. Highlighting the UK economy’s long-term performance and outlook and the Bank of England’s response to recent macroeconomic shocks, his talk was both enlightening and thought-provoking. The society’s ex-President, Serena, thanked Andrew for inspiring and challenging curious minds, marking the event as a remarkable opportunity for budding economists to engage with real-world economic issues.
